This article describes how to process credit, signature debit, and cash transactions in the mobile app.
Note: The TSYS mobile app doesn't process PIN debit cards.
What do you want to do?
Accept credit and signature debit payments
- Log in to the TSYS Mobile Payment Acceptance app.
Note: If you haven't already installed the app, see Set up a TSYS mobile solution.
- Do you want to record the customer's name with this transaction? (This can help you locate the customer's transactions and the date of the customer's last transaction.) Do one of the following steps.
To select an existing customer:
- Tap Add
.
- In the Select Customer screen, tap the name of the desired customer.
To add a new customer:
- Tap Add
.
- In the Select Customer screen, tap Add
.
- In the Add Customer screen, enter the customer's First Name, Last Name, and any additional information.
- Tap Add Customer to save the customer's information.
- Tap Add
- In the Enter Payment screen, enter the sale Amount, then tap Next.
- Do you want to swipe or enter a card? Follow the steps below.
Swipe a card:
- Swipe the card through a card reader.
- If you enabled invoice numbers, enter an invoice number.
- Tap Process Payment to process the transaction.
- If the transaction is successful, ask the customer to enter a tip (if you enabled tips) and to sign his or her name on the screen.
- Tap Done.
Enter a card:
- Tap Key-In Card.
- Enter the card number, then tap Next.
- Enter the expiration date, then tap Next.
- Enter the cardholder's name, then tap Next.
- Enter the card's security code if you can read the code. Otherwise, tap Illegible or Not Present.
- If the cardholder is present, tap Present. Otherwise, tap Not present.
- Enter the five-digit ZIP code, then tap Next.
- If you enabled invoice numbers, enter an invoice number.
- Tap Process Payment to process the transaction.
- To create a receipt for your customer, choose one of the following options.
- To email a receipt, enter the customer's email address and tap Email Receipt.
- To print a receipt to a Bluetooth printer, tap Print Receipt.
- Tap Complete.
Successful transactions are automatically settled before midnight on the same day.
Accept cash payments
- Log in to the TSYS Mobile Payment Acceptance app.
Note: If you haven't already installed the app, see Set up a TSYS mobile solution.
- If you want to associate this transaction with a new or existing customer (which can help you locate the customer's transactions and record the date of the customer's last transaction), do either of the following steps.
To select an existing customer:
- Tap Add
.
- In the Select Customer screen, tap the name of the desired customer.
To add a new customer:
- Tap Add
.
- In the Select Customer screen, tap Add
.
- In the Add Customer screen, enter the customer's First Name, Last Name, and any additional information.
- Tap Add Customer to save the customer's information.
- Tap Add
- In the Enter Payment screen, enter the sale Amount, then tap Next.
- Tap Cash.
- Enter the Amount Tendered (which is the amount the customer gives you).
- Give any change due to the customer, if applicable.
- Tap Next.
- If you enabled invoice numbers, enter an Invoice Number.
- Tap Process Payment.
- To create a receipt for your customer, choose one of the following options.
- To email a receipt, enter the customer's email address and tap Email Receipt.
- To print a receipt to a Bluetooth printer, tap Print Receipt.
- Tap Complete.
